What If Sex And The City TV Show Was Not There?

Just imagine, Sex and the City TV show is never happened?

Would it all have affected you fans in any way? I guess, not because something, which we were never known to, couldn’t affect us life in any way. But we can’t say the same thing for something, which helped us to become popular and added a lot to our name and fame. This is human tendency that we always pay gratitude to someone or something, which have helped us to become successful.

But it seems like that Kim Cattrall has nothing to do with such tendencies. The lady has given a very shocking statement recently. She has said that she would have been fine if there was no Sex and the City.  Here is what she all has to say,  “if it hadn’t come along I think I’d have been alright too. I’d have a really good, strong, journeyman actress career. That would have been fine”.

It simply means that it would have been fine for her if she had not appeared on Sex and the City Show. We all know what Sex and the City has done for her acting career. Kim Cattrall becomes a household name just for her brilliant appearance as Samantha Jones on the show. Samantha is one the leading ladies of the show and the character is given equal importance in the movie version of Sex and the City.

And you know what guys, when Kim Cattrall was about to get selected for the role of Samantha Jones, she didn’t even like the script of the series. Baby, you re really lucky. If you couldn’t have accepted the role, you have really have missed something. It’s only the Sex and the City TV show, which have helped you to become that much popular. What do you have to say about this, share with us?
And, download Sex and the City episodes from here right now.

Julie Benz’s stay on Desperate Housewives is extended!

And, the character gets such positive response from viewers that the creators have decided to extend her stay on this popular ABC Network series Desperate Housewives. It was the month of January when news hit the magazines that Julie Benz will be appearing on three episodes of Desperate Housewives.
She portrays the character of a lesbian stripper named Robin on the show. Initially, it was announced that Julie Benz would portray the character for three episodes only. As of now, the show representatives have confirmed that her role has been extended for more episodes. Bob Daily, the executive producer of the series says “We’ve been enjoying [Benz] so much, we’ve extended her at least one more episode and possibly more beyond that”. Possibly more beyond that- this is the thing, which we all can cheer upon as it indicates an indefinite time. Julie Benz’s awesome performance on Desperate Housewives would add more to the prestige of the actress. She is already very popular for her appearance on the very popular Showtime Network TV show Dexter. On Dexter, Julie Benz is seen playing the character of Rita Morgan, an important character of the show.
As of now, all fans of Desperate Housewives have set their sights on the upcoming episode of the show. It’s entitled Lovely and would hit the TV screens on February 21, 2010. If you want to watch upcoming episodes of the show, download Desperate Housewives episodes from here right now.
The next episode in the row would be The Chase. Here, you can watch clips from upcoming episodes of Desperate Housewives. The website is a legal way to make safe and quality downloads. Get started right now and enjoy your stay with us.

On The Book of Eli

The Book of Eli: A Movie Review
By John David Ebert
On the surface, there’s nothing new about The Book of Eli. It has all the essential plot structures of the traditional Western: the loner who wanders into town from out of the waste land, where he encounters bad guys running the town who are a bunch [...]

Movie Review: Miss You Like Crazy (2010)

It has been three years since the mega-tandem of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo's teamed-up in One More Chance. Is Miss You Like Crazy worth the wait?

I'm impressed with the film-making and story-telling of director Cathy Garcia-Molina. This film is a nice addition to her recent body of work (including One More Chance, A Very Special Love, and You Changed My Life). I'm going far as saying that the execution of Miss You Like Crazy is almost Hollywood-like.

However, I feel that the film lost a lot of is edge in the process of making it a very polished film. Some film fans will feel that Miss You Like Crazy doesn't have the emotional hooks its predecessors have and that the presence of John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo was clockwork. (Did John Lloyd just mail it in? We'll never know). Bea, for her part, had an uneven performance as she was awkward the first parts then got to her comfort zone in the latter parts.

The story focuses on timing and time as necessary aspects of love and romance. As a viewer, I got to experience that first hand as I felt the movie's 2-hour running time midway through the movie. Also, there were several chronological goofs in the movie (like a PC running Windows 7 in 2005).

So, is Miss You Like Crazy worth the wait? Depends on who's asking. I think it's a well-made movie, but I felt it did not deliver the goods. I'm convinced that the title refers to how people will long for the good old days of the John Lloyd-Bea tandem after watching this film.

Movie Review: Cop Out (2010)

Director Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Zack and Miri Make a Porno) got the green light from big studios and he came up with Cop Out, one of funniest buddy cop movies in recent memory.

For an action movie, the action is quite light. No huge explosions, no massive gunfights-- definitely modest production values. However, the movie is a heavyweight when it comes to witty banter and physical comedy. Tracy Morgan (of 30 Rock fame) is able to migrate his "Tracy Jordan" appeal into the big screen and Bruce Willis is the perfect foil to the zany antics of Morgan.

The plot seems culled from a sitcom: After the two cops get suspended, they get entangled with a drug trafficking synicate and the two end up breaking the law (with comic results) to stop the drug lords. But in true Kevin Smith fashion, there are lots of swearing, low-brow jokes, and interesting subtle twists. That by itself is not good, but the film the film is executed almost perfectly that it will click with the males. One FTW: Mallrats star Jason Lee has a small part in the movie. :D

Cop Out is a homage to the funny buddy cop movies and is best for guys after a night of drinks or male bonding.

Avatar (2009) **1/2

Director: James Cameron

Starring: James Worthington, Zoe Saldana

The movie industry puts out a film every few years that you “have to see because it will change movies forever”. Avatar, for many, is that movie for this time frame. Avatar is the first movie since the rebirth of the 3D feature to appeal [...]

S.U.S. M.I.A.

I know what you’re thinking (and by “you,” I mean all three of you that still check this blog out)…where the hell have you guys been?!  You pull the plug on the damn show, you promise to blog more, and then you do jack shit.
Guilty as charged.
Would you believe me if I said we were busy writing, directing, and pre-producing a number of projects both large and small?  I hope so…because it’s true.
Back in December, I posted an article about a documentary I’m producing entitled, Dear Mr. Watterson. We had just launched a 90-day fundraising mission through Kickstarter.com, and I was on my humble knees asking for your support.  Well, it seemed the groveling worked.
Not only did we reach our goal of $12,000, but we did so in 21 days…and are about to peak $16,000.  Our sincere thanks to everyone and anyone who contributed three bucks or more. And, if you’d still like to donate, the sky’s the limit, and Joel (the director) has posted another intro on the Kickstarter site.
In addition, Jimbo and I will probably have some more exciting news and tidbits to share with you in the coming months, so stay tuned.  And just so ya know, if we ever go missing in action, it only means we’re working our f’n tails off creating movies / culture / entertainment for ya’ll to enjoy (and perhaps, rib and ridicule).

Same

This is a video i edited together explaining how we are all the same when you look deep. We may look or act different, but we are all the same. I used different frames to show how we view people in certain "boxes" most of the time, when we should be viewing them in the same "box." Music from freeplaymusic.com. Murnau, Lang, and Sirk

Now available: sterling editions of classic works by three directors whose careers enjoyed enormous success in the German film industry and the Hollywood studio system alike.
F. W. Murnau’s 1930 <a href=“http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/city-girl/“>City Girl</a>, the buoyant and lyrical follow-up to <a href=“http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/sunrise2/“>Sunrise_</a> that for too long dwelt in the earlier film’s expressionist shadow, appears from MoC in a breathtaking 1080p transfer of the definitive silent version’s 20th Century Fox restoration — and marks our first ever Blu-ray only release. The feature is accompanied by the 2008 score by Christopher Caliendo, and includes a new and exclusive optional audio commentary by film scholar David Kalat. A 28-page booklet rounds out the release, and contains a 2003 essay on the film by Adrian Danks, flanked by a selection of production stills.
The immortal 1931 Fritz Lang masterpiece <a href=“http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/m/“>M</a> at last sees the light of day on Blu-ray in its restored form. Peter Lorre gives one of the most brilliant and moving performances in cinema history as the child murderer who is hunted like vermin by the Berlin police — and the Berlin underworld. A new 2x DVD edition of the film is also available, with both editions hosting identical supplements: two separate audio commentaries (Anton Kaes and Eric Rentschler on one; Peter Bogdanovich, Martin Koerber, Torsten Kaiser, and excerpts from Bogdanovich’s 1965 audio interview with Fritz Lang on the other); the rarely seen 1932 English-language retooling of the original film; and Erwin Leiser’s 1968 interview documentary Zum Beispiel Fritz Lang [For Example: Fritz Lang]. A heavily illustrated 48-page booklet containing essays by Lang, Anton Kaes, and Robert Fischer is also included.
Finally, we bring you a DVD-only edition of one of Douglas Sirk’s greatest Hollywood achievements: the heart-wrenching <a href=“http://www.eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/theres-always-tomorrow/“>There’s Always Tomorrow</a> from 1956. Norma Vale (Barbara Stanwyck) and Clifford Groves (Fred MacMurray) are two people who thought their successful careers had put an end to the love they shared long ago. But after ‘magically’ crossing paths once again, they discover that their love might have been rekindled… despite the presence of a wife (Joan Bennett) and three children. A rough only-extant version of the original American theatrical trailer appears on the disc, along with Pascal Thomas’s and Dominique Rabourdin’s marvelous 61-minute 2008 documentary Quelques jours avec Sirk [A Few Days with Sirk], largely constructed out of early-‘80s archival film footage of Sirk in conversation and in lecture. A 40-page booklet presents an essay by Andrew Klevan and excerpts from a 1977 interview with Sirk.
Herzlichen Kinowunsch!

Six from Lubitsch

Out now: a DVD collection of the early German silents that established the incredible Ernst Lubitsch’s reputation not only as master/creator of the hyper-risqué hundred-karat rom-com (the “Lubitsch Touch” film), but as an innovator of set design, an able director of extras, and a capable pacer of melodramatic arcs.
These traits — calling cards for Lubitsch’s eventual and triumphant Hollywood career (directing such immortal classics as Trouble in Paradise and To Be or Not to Be) — manifest themselves across six varied works, riotous in every sense: <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/ich-mochte-kein-mann-sein/“>Ich möchte kein Mann sein</a> I Wouldn’t Like to Be a Man — <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/die-puppe/“>Die Puppe.</a> The Doll. — <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/die-austernprinzessin/“>Die Austernprinzessin.</a> The Oyster Princess. — <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/sumurun/“>Sumurun</a> (1920) — <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/anna-boleyn/“>Anna Boleyn</a> (1920) — and <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/die-bergkatze/“>Die Bergkatze</a> The Mountain-Lion / The Wildcat.
All films are presented in officially licenced transfers from restored materials, include the original German intertitles (with new removable English subtitles), and are accompanied by recently recorded musical scores; Die Puppe. includes an exclusive new score that we’re especially pleased to present — composed, performed, and recorded by Bernard Wrigley. Robert Fischer’s 2006 feature-length documentary Ernst Lubitsch in Berlin: From Schönhauser Allee to Hollywood rounds out the package of six ThinPaks included in a hardbox, with each feature supplemented by a short essay penned variously by David Cairns, Anna Thorngate, and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky (x2 each).
There’s never been a better opportunity to rediscover or reconsider your appreciation of Lubitsch’s work — or to discover his awesome art for the very first time.
***
In addition to delving into the smorgasbord of Lubitsch, we invite you to investigate a few of our other recent releases: Nobuhiko Obayashi’s re-forefronted tour-de-force <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/house-hausu/“>House</a>, now available on DVD as it makes new and turbulent waves around the globe; a Blu-ray release of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1964 masterpiece <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/une-femme-mariee2/“>Une femme mariée, fragments d’un film tourné en 1964 en noir et blanc</a> [A Married Woman: Fragments of a Film Shot in 1964 in Black and White] appearing, along with its JLG-cut trailer, in glorious 1080p, and which retains the same acclaimed 80-page book that accompanied our original DVD edition; and Al Reinert’s timeless, exquisite 1989 <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/for-all-mankind2/“>For All Mankind</a>, available on both Blu-ray and DVD, which chronicles the experiences of the orbital-lunar and terranean heroes of NASA’s ‘68-‘72 Apollo missions.
Last but not least, a reminder about a film dear to our hearts: Jeffrey Levy-Hinte’s 2008 <a href=“http://eurekavideo.co.uk/moc/catalogue/soul-power/“>Soul Power</a>, built out of footage shot in 1974 by Albert Maysles, Paul Goldsmith, Kevin Keating, and Roderick Young to chronicle the landmark Zaire ‘74 concert event organised in Kinshasa in tandem with the (subsequently postponed) Ali-Foreman “Rumble in the Jungle.” Whether on the DVD edition or, especially, on the Blu-ray edition, you’ll likely not have heard so powerful or ecstatic a soundtrack, nor seen the glory of 16mm celluloid film-grain presented so faithfully, as on this release of Levy-Hinte’s recently unearthed film-treasure.
Happy viewing.

Badmovies.org Reviews "Ator"

What would "Conan the Barbarian" have been like if it was made in Italy and rated PG? Well, the scene with the crazy witch woman seducing the barbarian is a lot less interesting. This is my entry in the B-Masters 10,000 B.S. roundtable.

Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother...and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

The Crazies

In a terrifying tale of the "American Dream" gone wrong, four friends find themselves trapped in their hometown in "The Crazies," a reinvention of the George Romero classic. David Dutton is sheriff of Ogden Marsh, a picture-perfect American town with happy, law-abiding citizens. But one night, one of them comes to a school baseball game with a loaded shotgun, ready to kill. Another man burns down his house after locking his wife and young son in a closet inside. Something is infecting the citizens of Ogden Marsh...with insanity. The few still sane find themselves trapped: Sheriff Dutton; his pregnant wife, Judy; Becca, an assistant at the medical center; and Russell, Dutton's deputy and right-hand man. Forced to band together, an ordinary night becomes a struggle for survival as they try to get out of town alive.

Shutter Island

The film, based on the novel "Shutter Island" by Dennis Lehane, is an atmospheric psychological thriller set in a 1950s asylum for the criminally insane. It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Shutter Island's Ashecliffe Hospital. He'd been gunning for an assignment on the island for reasons of his own -- but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's code-breaking skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues proliferate, Teddy begins to doubt everything -- his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

Valentine's Day

The film is a comedy about 10 people in Los Angeles whose lives intersect on the romantic holiday. The film is being fasttracked with hopes for a release on Valentine's Day 2010.
